The old version of the MSI needs to be imported into SCCM and the uninstall command line specified.Ģ. You need a few things for SCCM to remove the old and install the new.ġ. SCCM will not remove the older version and install the new version unless you specify this need in the properties of the package.
This is based on the vendor and how what they told their product to do. If you install a newer version of the product the installation of the new MSI may upgrade the existing product. If you install the MSI on a PC (clean install) the MSI package will install via the command line specified. Note: You may need to add a /qn at the end of the command line it specifies. If you import an MSI into the Applications node of SCCM it should be able to pick up the silent install and uninstall strings.
